Jacqueline Hogan Scola


Judge Hogan Scola retired from the bench in March 2020 after having served over 17 years in the Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit. Her last assignment was in the Extended Trials Division, handling longer and more complex cases such as tobacco and asbestos litigation, products liability, medical malpractice, and professional liability cases.

After retirement Judge Hogan Scola worked with JAMS in Miami handling mediations, arbitrations, and special magistrate work in both State and Federal cases.

Judge Hogan Scola graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1982. She began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. Subsequently, she became a trial attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.

Judge Hogan Scola was the training director in both the State Attorney’s Office and US Attorney’s Office. As a Judge, taught extensively to judges, lawyers, and law students and mentored young lawyers and law students. She continues to teach Advanced Trial Advocacy for The Florida Bar.
